The health of illegal immigrants in the Netherlands is endangered by their dependence on access to a relatively small network of doctors who do not object to their illegal status but are often overworked, according to a survey by Nivel (the Netherlands Institute of Health Services Research).
The survey of more than 400 GPs, midwives, and hospital emergency care staff identified certain problems that were more common among illegal immigrants than in the general population as a whole. …
