Re: Compulsory reading

Many congratulations to Professor Trisha Greenhalgh on her tribute to Archie Cochrane’s classic monograph. Having been privileged to know him briefly, I feel sure that despite his genuine modesty, he would have approved. His self written BMJ obituary (also a classic) is testament to that.

It is also worth remarking that many of those who opinionate about the provision of healthcare in the UK have never read it, and in some cases not even heard of it. It should be compulsory reading. Now is their chance to improve themselves.

David Crosby. Retired Surgeon, University Hospital of Wales.
