However as a busy GP who relies on synopses to keep up to date I regret the omission of the WHO criteria of gestational diabetes following OGGT. There is always pressure of space in an article but doing screening for gestational diabetes is a prime role of a GP as care of the overtly diabetic patient is often taken over completely by the hospital and specialist diabetic nurses. To screen well then we need not only the target population (well recorded) but also the diagnostic criteria. I could not even find it in the eBMJ. I will have to go in search of it. It also would be useful if the recommendations would have elaborated on glucose screening test(challenge) for gestational diabetes as they claim oral glucose tolerance test is better test Competing interests: None declared
