New online diagnostic tool launched to help doctors
BMJ 2002; 324 doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.324.7352.1478/c (Published 22 June 2002) Cite this as: BMJ 2002;324:1478All rapid responses
Rapid responses are electronic comments to the editor. They enable our users to debate issues raised in articles published on bmj.com. A rapid response is first posted online. If you need the URL (web address) of an individual response, simply click on the response headline and copy the URL from the browser window. A proportion of responses will, after editing, be published online and in the print journal as letters, which are indexed in PubMed. Rapid responses are not indexed in PubMed and they are not journal articles. The BMJ reserves the right to remove responses which are being wilfully misrepresented as published articles or when it is brought to our attention that a response spreads misinformation.
From March 2022, the word limit for rapid responses will be 600 words not including references and author details. We will no longer post responses that exceed this limit.
The word limit for letters selected from posted responses remains 300 words.
Is it restricted to U.K. physicians, or can it be used by any M.D. in
other countries

When I pressed the "submit" button on my registration, the system
responded with a dialog box without instructions (just a blinking
cursor in an empty text-entry field). I tried typing several things into
it, but the only thing that worked was to type my e-mail address.
Just a tip if you run into the same mysterious, blank box.

Re: Re: Isabel Access
ISABEL is accessible to all healthcare professionals dealing with
children, in any part of the world. Your credentials will be verified by
the ISABEL administration team after registration.
There are plans to provide versions of ISABEL tailored to individual
regions of the world. An ISABEL India project is underway to explore the
modifications necessary to the main site in order to achieve this in the
Indian subcontinent.
The ISABEL team is also very interested in feedback from healthcare
professionals from other parts of the world regarding their experience
with the use of ISABEL in clinical practice and their views on the future
role of ISABEL in their country.
Paediatric units interested in participating in the planned clinical
evaluation of the system could also contact me for further details.
