    EDITOR—Catto's paper in the series on the GMC and the future of revalidation, although very thoughtful, does not tackle many of the problems with revalidation as it has been discussed hitherto.1 Catto also fails to understand that Dame Janet Smith's inquiry report is largely irrelevant to revalidation, particularly for doctors who are not general practitioners.
