An Alternative Therapy
As a student in genetics, I would like to thank the authors of this
paper for this analysis: that the correlation of maternal age, family
history as well as having suffered two or more miscarriages being an
indication for a couple to be carriers of chromosomal abnormalities.
Was transvaginal sonography the method by which all of the females
were clinically diagnosed for complete miscarriages?
Pre-implantation genetic testing is an alternative therapy that can
be used for couples that have had two or more miscarriages. This way the
0.5% to 10.2% chance of having a chromosome abnormality could be lowered
including the risk of having a child with Tuner syndrome, Down syndrome,
trisomy 18 and 13. However, would instigating pre-implantation genetic
testing for all couples who have had two or more miscarriages going to
help drive down the cost of medical care?
